What is Red Swing?
Throughout the summers of my childhood, my grandmother dispensed her wise advice to my siblings and me on her front porch of the old farmhouse on the corner of 3rd and G in small town David City, Nebraska. Dad worked in the railroad profession, so our family relocated to many houses in different states during our childhood. The only place that we really called "home" was where I spent my childhood: 315 G Street.

Each fun-filled day was a mix of swimming, biking, exploring, playing, gardening, snapping beans, and detasseling corn. After supper, my Grandma would announce that it was "porch time," which meant it was time to settle down, have some quiet time and reflect on the day.
We sat on the red porch swing and rocked, talked or just stayed quiet. It was my safe place where I could say anything without worry of judgment. My grandparents listened, advised, laughed, cried, and gave me a space in the comfort of a red porch swing to learn life's lessons.

Years after my grandparents passed away, I drove past that house and our porch swing was still there, painted white. But for me, it will always be remembered as my Red Swing.

My dream now is to help you find the place within yourself that provides a sense of comfort and safety when setting and striving to reach your goals and dreams. For me, the red swing on the front porch of 315 G Street represents the heart of the home, the entrance to my dreams, and hope of a fulfilling life. Now it is your turn to come sit with me, settle down and reflect on what you hope to achieve.
